What do I pay and when?
For all family sessions a non-refundable £40 deposit will secure your booking. Your balance will be due on the day of your shoot. Work on your gallery will only begin when full payment has been made.
Payment plans are available for those booking in advance. Please get in touch if this would be helpful for you.
How long will it be before we can see our photos?
I will always endeavour to get them back to you as soon as possible. I usually aim to post a sneak peek online a day or two after the session and will share your preview gallery with you shortly after that. Once you've selected your favourites I will carry out a final edit on each individual photograph. I aim for a 10-day turnaround but this could vary at busier times. I will always contact you to keep you updated if this is the case.
Can we buy extra photos from our gallery?
Yes, absolutely. Extra images are charged at £10 each or you can choose to upgrade to the full gallery.
What do we need to wear for our photoshoot?
Whatever you're comfortable in! I want to capture you just as you are, wearing whatever makes you feel like you. There's no need to go out and buy anything special.
By all means co-ordinate your outfits if that's your thing and if you do want to go down the route of creating something with a bit more of a styled look then we can certainly discuss that.
My only advice would be to avoid branded clothing (t-shirts with large logos or writing etc) or overly bright colours as this can be distracting in an image or cause colour reflections that are very difficult to correct post-production.
Keeping things plain or textured in natural or muted tones make for more timeless photos.
Can we meet you before our session?
Some people find it a little uncomfortable being in front of a camera and get nervous because they don't know what to expect. If you're feeling apprehensive about your session then I will of course be more than happy to chat to you beforehand. We can do this over the phone (emails just don't cut it sometimes, do they?) or with a cuppa via Zoom - it's always nice to see people's faces and know who you're working with.
Also, if you have any special requirements we can use this catch-up to discuss your ideas further to ensure we capture your vision on the day!
Do I have to order prints through you?
I always encourage you to print your photos - you deserve to enjoy them! Although I don't currently offer a print service, I can make recommendations to ensure you get quality prints. I would be happy to put you in touch and help in any way I can.
Will my images be shared on social media?
Usually I share a selection of images across my social media platforms. I am proud of the work I create and the best way to market my business is by sharing my work on my website, Instagram and Facebook pages. Most of my clients find me online, through word-of-mouth and recommendations, so keeping my portfolio up-to-date is really important. That being said, I appreciate that social media is not everyone's cup of tea, and I will always fully respect your decision if you request to keep your images private.
(I do not use children's names on social media for safeguarding purposes).
Do you travel?
I am based in Richmond, North Yorkshire. I am happy to travel to your home or meet you at a location which holds special significance to your family, but please be aware charges may apply depending on how far away you are.
Do you offer any discounts?
I believe everyone deserves to have beautiful photos of their family. Keep an eye out on my social media platforms as I sometimes put out model calls and do offer discounts from time to time. If the investment is still a little out of reach then drop me a message and let's see if we can work something out.
Who owns the rights to our photographs?
I own the rights to all the photographs I take. The images you purchase, or receive as part of your package, are for you to enjoy privately (e.g. to display in your home or to share on your personal social media pages) and are not to be used in any other capacity (e.g. commercial or public) without written permission from Katrina & her Camera.
Please remember to credit all images when you use them online and avoid using any filters.
What if we need to cancel or reschedule our shoot?
If you wish to cancel your family photoshoot at any stage, your deposit will not be refunded. Cancellations must be made in writing.
If you need to reschedule your session, I kindly ask that you inform me no later than 24 hours prior to your shoot, or at your earliest convenience. A rebooked session will need to take place within two weeks of the original booked session in order to transfer the deposit, outside of this time frame your session would be considered a new booking.
